Ajax 1930's BDP 6.5" x 14" Vintage Snare Drum for Restoration/Parts. I purchased this drum from a UK Estate Sale. It was found in the attic of a small castle in the country. I was told it was made in 1939, but I am not a Ajax Professional. The Shell is in Great Shape, as is the Wrap. The parts that are present work as they should. Missing is the Badge, Upper Parallel Snare Mechanism, One Tension Rod, and Internal Muffle Pad (Muffle Mechanism is Present). The Metal Snare Strands were not usable. It is a Wonderful Drum with Great Bones, I just cannot get the parts to put it back together. Hoops and Lugs are pitted with some loss of Chrome. I believe the moisture in the attic did well for the shell and wrap, but not for the Hardware. Great innovation by Ajax concerning the Double Parallel Snare Strainer and Hardware.
